Westmore Academy at Empire “The First Name in Makeup Artistry”
Do you want to create stunning celebrity looks for the big screen? Work on movie sets or in the high energy fashion world? Then you need the biggest name in Hollywood make up artistry and the largest name in cosmetology to stand behind you: Westmore and Empire Education.
The Westmore family was the first name in Hollywood make up. At one point, four major studios make up artistry departments were headed by a member of the Westmore family. In fact, the Westmores have, collectively, done the make up of almost every Hollywood celebrity to ever grace the big screen. If you want to learn makeup artistry, then why not learn from the name that has it’s own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?
Six-time Emmy-nominated Hollywood professional Marvin Westmore founded the Westmore Academy in 1981. When you attend Westmore Academy at Empire, you are taking part in a prestigious piece of make up history long recognized and celebrated for its exclusive contributions to Hollywood. The Westmore Academy at Empire isn’t just a make-up artistry school; it’s the make up artistry school.
We’ve broken the exclusive Westmore Academy curriculum into four 3 week levels. It looks like this:
- Level 1 – Essential Fundamentals. Get started by exploring the essential products and tools. Then you’ll learn techniques to create sporty, daytime, business and elegant looks. You will master shadow and lash techniques and be introduced to the glamour of the red carpet.
- Level 2 – Bridal, Salon & Retail. We’ll cover advanced corrective foundation and techniques for giving a stellar bridal consultation. Plus you’ll learn how to build a clientele base, makeup and lighting essentials, airbrushing and expound on red carpet looks from Level 1.
- Level 3 – Fashion & Photography. Here’s where you get serious about make up artistry for the fast paced fashion world. Learn super glam and get in depth with print, film and digital photography differences. You’ll learn runway fashion body makeup, how to plan a photo shoot, the importance of textures and elements, and more.
- Level 4 – Film, TV & Multimedia. This is where the “magic” happens. If your dream is to work on a movie set, Level 4 is where you’ll gain insights into how film is made. You’ll learn commercial makeup, airbrush effects and how to start your business. Realistic trauma and prosthetics (think gory hospital scenes) are taught at this level, too.
